Jeans or dockers would be okay but it is a nice restaurant i personally think dressing up a little is a nice thing
No, no that i was aware of when I went.
Call them for date(s) and reservations
Italian comfort food, great wine selection, and super fast and attentive service. Always stop in when I visit from out of town.
San Francisco must go too let me know
Fresh delicious pasta, caesar salad and bread ! Excellent service!
It was so cool to eat lunch at "the oldest Italian restaurant in the US"! We had the chicken special for lunch, which was kind of like a saltimbocca and it was very tasty, although the potatoes and veggies weren't fully cooked. We had a glass of Chianti with lunch as well. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
Were there with a group of friends. Enjoyed the food and wonderful desserts. The wait staff was a little off their game.
good service! I cannot believe the restaurant is 132 years old already.
Delightful old school decor, great service and really good food. Celebrating their 130th anniversary our group all enjoyed a special prix fixe three course lunch along with live jazz. Very special.
What a wonderful experience. Service was stellar, food exemplary and ambiance unbeaten. It was a feast for all the senses.
Good food, very relaxing ... They say they are the oldest continuously operating Italian restaurant in the U.S.A... they should give you some history to read up on with the menu. The steamed mussles and claims we're well prepared. f you are a cannoli afficionado, be aware the stuffing has the little pieces of candied fruit. The pumpkin stuffed pasta was tasty too!
I eat fettucini and mushroom, they were ok. Although the restaurant was not crowded the service was slow. The tiramisu was not good.
A must stop in San Francisco. The staff is amazing and the food, OMG! A quaint local Italian restaurant with a bar and pianist.
My mom, sister, and I happened to walk past this place while walking around San Francisco while on vacation and decided we might as well stop and eat since we were hungry and we all like Italian cuisine. Wow! This was by far the best meal I had the whole time we were in San Francisco. It's a bit expensive for lunch, but it would make a wonderful date night spot or just a good place to stop for a nice dinner. It's like business casual dress attire and has a romantic dinner vibe in my opinion. The staff is very nice and helpful as well.
The staff was attentive and personable. Everyone in our large group was very happy with their food selections and we all had a lovely time.
I was so satisfied after this meal. Authentic Italian at its best.
The food for all 4 of us was great, service was great. With the jazz band it was like going back to the 30's & 40's, we loved it
A fine dining experience at the oldest Italian restaurant in the USA. What a fantastic time we had at Fior. Everything was fantastic. The food was beautiful and prepared to taste delicious. The atmosphere with the piano playing was scrumptious and inviting. It was truly a dining experience of Italian home. The wait staff is excellent. The care and service received was second to none. Lalo and all involved did an excellent job. Enjoyment at its fullest.
Food and the service is amazing!
staff was very friendly but the quality of the food was poor and over priced, the presentation was bad and the restaurant was empty the entire time we were there. As some one who loves Italian food, i don't recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful food and great staff. Nice neighborhood.
The best Italian fine dining I had ever. You have to come here because the service is incredible here. Everyone is happy here and I'm so glad I was there. It is an experience to be lived when you order here. The dessert was incredible that I had to order again. Favorite dish: The cheesecake
Unbelievable flavors in a beautiful showcase. The staff was incredible....2nd only to the menu. Salud
We had a wonderful dinner and the BEST DAMN Crab Ciopppino lived up to its title. The seafood was abundant and fresh, especially the crab! The sauce was flavorful and great to dip sourdough bread in. We also had linguine with Alfredo sauce and that was lap very good. Highly recommend this place.
Charming Atmosphere with Excellent Service. There were 5 dishes ordered at our table and everyone said it was some of the Best Italian food they had ever had.
The best NewYork strip steak I've had!Ask for Geo at the bar for an excellent experience!
Eating at Fior d'Italia is like stepping into another era. In the best possible way. The service is perfection. The food is unparalleled. Everything is done with an eye for detail and love.
A very pleasant Italian restaurant, with bar and valet parking. Near where Joltin' Joe later got the playground he started learning baseball named after himself. Food is standard for Italian restaurants here: heavily salted. But inside the diners were quiet, the kitchen and waiters were loud, the tables graciously spaced. Special bonus: the alleyway at the side is a very charming walk reminiscent of old SF. We were attending a club meeting in a semi private room. The meal included an antipasto course for the same total dinner cost as a comparable restaurant in the Sunset...where everyone is loud and the tableside squeezed close.
Came here for valentines Dinner and had a spectacular time! There was a man on the piano playing lovely music when we entered, which gives it an instant sense of class and elegance. The food was delicious, service was great, and the ambiance was to die for. The tables for 2 are also nice and roomy, unlike lots of the newer modern restaurants which squeeze everyone next to each other. It felt like old school fine dining. Definitely don't miss out on the cheesecake! My husband and I loved it so much that we've decided to make this our annual valentines tradition! So we will see you next year Fior d'Italia!
Very helpful and friendly services. Food was tasty, nice atmosphere. Spotless clean. On some days you can listen to live music! I can truly recommend this italian restaurant to everybody. I would return there if I had a chance. There is also a bar.
Go eat here! Stellar Italian cuisine and great service. Im a server and I've worked over half my short working life in various Italian restaurants and eaten in hundreds of others (including little Italy and all over NY and even *in* Italy. This spot ranks within some of the really really good Italian trattoria. Everything is quite fresh and cooked to order from scratch (you can tell). The service is great, they were very friendly and fun. Treated us like family. Probably better than most of the service I've had at other such establishments.Everyone who sees this should definitely be going there to try it out.
Nobody watching the front door. Waited for ten minutes for a table and none of the employees even noticed I was there. Restaurant was empty.
Seafood heaven! This place was amazing. The wait is very long so I recommend getting a reservation otherwise you can wait over an hour, so don't go when your already hangry, plan ahead. We had the crab Louie salad, linguine with clams and the fettuccine with mixed seafood. Incredible! Best seafood in a longtime!
Wow, we made an online reservation for 5 and had a very warm welcome. The olive oil and bread is a delicious treat... Pasta and steak almost like being in Italy. But the piano music really carried us away... service more than friendly also to the kids. Feels almost like knowing them since a long time... Thank you for the nice evening.
Excellent food. San Francisco must dine location
I love this place. Staffs are very friendly. I recommended this place so all.
Five of us enjoyed an awesome meal and relaxed service over the weekend. What a taste of old San Francisco in North Beach! My pumpkin ravioli with sage was incredible. My boyfriend had the Ravioli Bolognese, and our friend had the lasagna. We also enjoyed the biscotti plate for dessert, as well as the house wines. Did you know they make the pasta fresh here every day? An excellent place to slow down and have a meal with friends.
OMFG...I seriously cannot think of a better pasta that I've eaten than here. I seriously had a moment Everytime I took a bite!!! Bucatini Amatriciana was recommended by Mateo and oh hell yes did it deliver!! Seriously, do yourself a favor and get that with the house Cabernet Sauvignon.....you can thank me later!!!
There is honestly nothing negative I can say about the place. The location is charming and befitting a first rate Italian place. Everything was delicious, Mateo was our server and he was charming and had great stories, was very attentive and made excellent recommendations. I will absolutely be back.
Great service and food.
The ravioli and the lasagna we're so tasty! It isn't inauthentically over-sweet like Americanized Italian food. The atmosphere was truly exceptional.
The restaurant had a nice ambiance but, the lamb rack was overpriced and was O.K. The sauce on the lamb tasted like overly salted bouillon cubes. Not impressed.
Randomly popped in as was nearby. Everything was great, had the gnocchi and salad and tasted really fresh. Had a live band playing music. Service was excellent. Definitely recommend.
Gio best bartender by far! Thanks for that delicious coffee martini
Nothing to write home about. It was nice to have homemade pasta, but the sauce was underwhelming, the portions small and the prices did not reflect the food quality.
The dishes were tasty but not overwhelmingly delicious considering the cost. Great service, atmosphere and staff, but a bit expensive. Great to celebrate an engagement, a special birthday, a medical miracle, the end of someone's presidency.
Wonderful old school restaurant experience with real service, not pretentious "better than you millennial attitudes" some of the trendy places. And there's a reason why this restaurant has been around for a hundred years. Menu has most Italian classics but not pizza. It's a big space but didn't feel like it thanks to the layout. 4 stars instead of 5 because it was just a bit more expensive than others serving similar food.
Delicious food, creative drinks & great atmosphere.
Nice place. Not the best gnocchi I’ve ever had, and that was disappointing. Great service though
Great bar area to meet friends and helpful and friendly staff.
Awesome service, authentic Italian food & environment. A must if you’re visiting San Francisco. When we walked in the door, the host welcomed us home!
California is such an amazing State with it's natural beauty. For dining Fior d'Italia will remain one of my favorite memories. Delicious, delicious food; beautiful and relaxing atmosphere; and the wait staff are impeccably attentive to your needs (yet don't intrude). You do not want to miss this restaurant's experience. Thank you For d'Italia for the wonderful evening!
